PROJECT
The COREu project is a major Horizon Europe initiative focused on accelerating the deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS) across Europe. Bringing together more than 40 partners from industry and research, COREu is developing cross-border infrastructure and demonstration projects that connect CO₂ emitters with safe geological storage sites. The project supports the creation of regional CCS clusters and an integrated transport network, contributing to Europe’s path toward net-zero emissions by 2050.
Within COREu, Energean, EnEarth’s parent company, participates as a key partner. EnEarth plays a central role by contributing its expertise in CO₂ storage through the Prinos Carbon Storage project in Greece. In this context, the project demonstrates key enabling technologies across the CCS value chain at Prinos–Kavala, while also supporting the development of three new CCS pathways in Central and Eastern Europe: Southern Moravia, the Baltic Sea–Gdansk region, and Western Ukraine. Together, these efforts contribute to accelerating CCS deployment and strengthening technical knowledge and collaboration across Europe.
