EnEarth’s “Back to School” Initiative Provides School Supplies for 570 Children across Kavala, Pangaio and Nestos
- Press Releases
For the sixth consecutive year, the “Back to School” initiative, this year implemented through EnEarth, is supporting children and families facing social or financial challenges by helping them obtain the essential school supplies they need as the new school year begins.
A total of 570 children will receive gift vouchers through the social welfare organisations “Pnoi – Association for Children and Families”, “Merimna tou Paidiou Kavalas” (Kavala Child Care Association) and the “Kavala Child Protection Branch” of the Social Welfare Centre of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, as well as through the Municipalities of Pangaio and Nestos. The vouchers will enable families to purchase school supplies from bookstores operating in their local communities.
Through the initiative, EnEarth aims to:
• Ensure that children from vulnerable families have access to essential school supplies for the new school year;
• Enable children to participate fully and equally in school and educational activities;
• Ease the financial burden on parents;
• Support the valuable work of social welfare organisations in Kavala and the Municipalities of Pangaio and Nestos; and
• Strengthen local economies by working with bookstores in the respective communities.
The gift vouchers were presented by Vassilis Tsetoglou, Prinos Asset Manager and Group Health, Safety and Environment Director at Energean, and Artemis Barbounis, Corporate Affairs Director of Energean in Greece.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr Tsetoglou said:
“Through its ‘Back to School’ initiative, EnEarth is putting its commitment to local communities into action, with particular emphasis on supporting children and families in need. The start of a new school year should be a time of joy, creativity and optimism for every child. Having access to the necessary school supplies is an important part of ensuring that children can begin the year with confidence and participate fully in school life.
“We warmly thank the social welfare organisations and municipal services for their cooperation and for the invaluable work they carry out every day. EnEarth is committed to developing initiatives that deliver a positive social impact and will continue to contribute, with the resources available to us, to building a society that offers greater opportunities while reducing inequalities and social exclusion.”
