EnEarth Highlights Milestone for Prinos CO₂ Storage at the 2026 Europe Forum on CCS in Brussels

Dr. Pantelis Vogiatzis, Commercial Lead at EnEarth, participated as a speaker at the 2026 Europe Forum on Carbon Capture and Storage, organised by the Global CCS Institute in Brussels on 4 March 2026.

During the panel discussion “CCS in the Mediterranean”, Dr. Vogiatzis presented the latest developments of the Prinos CO₂ Storage Project, highlighting the recent award of the Storage Permit by the Greek authorities — a historic milestone for both the project and Greece.

With the issuance of the permit, Prinos becomes the first licensed CO₂ storage site in Southern Europe and the wider Mediterranean region, marking an important step in establishing Greece as an emerging hub for carbon management and industrial decarbonisation.

The milestone also reflects the significant regulatory progress achieved in Greece, including the establishment of the national legal and regulatory framework for CO₂ storage and the successful completion of the storage permitting process.

The Prinos CO₂ Storage Project is expected to play a key role in supporting the decarbonisation of industry in Greece and Southeast Europe by providing safe and permanent storage capacity for captured CO₂ emissions.

The Forum provided an opportunity to present these developments to the European CCS community and contribute to the ongoing dialogue on accelerating the deployment of carbon management solutions across Europe.
